But now, after I had seen that there are still so many Game Gear fans everywhere (on the Internet, at CompuServe), I simply had to do it for them (And you!). This file shows you how to get access to the Game Gear James Pond 2 secret levels and even a bit more. I found out all the information within this file by myself and you get it free, so don't sell this file for profit or modify it and then sell it. Of course, if you don't change it, you may give it to anyone and upload it anywhere else where you want to. So, have fun! P.P.P.S.: If you're looking at this file in Windows, you might wonder what that graphical disorder at the top is. It is in fact an ASCII James Pond 2 logo which won't be displayed correctly in the ANSI-using Windows. Just use DOS or a Windows DOS box and it will work. CONTENTS: I. Turn on your Gear, wait for the James Pond 2 title screen and press start. 2. You're now outside Santa Claus's toy factory that's been taken over by Doctor Maybe. Walk all the way to the right. Jump over all level doors in your way so you won't enter them. 3. Now, look at the tower at the east end of the house just left to you. 3 units of ledges are attached to the tower which can be used as stairs. Get onto the upper stair unit. Jump onto the roof to the left and remain standing there. Walk to the left. Don't jump, don't run, simply walk by pressing the d- button left, nothing else. As you arrive at the west end of the roof you're on, you might think you'll fall down after crossing the edge of it. But just after you walk over the edge, you won't fall down but disappear behind a wall you can't see through and then - you'll be in the secret level area. There are two doors just like the normal ones. The levels aren't better than the others, but, hey, they're secret! P.S.: Of course, you can also do this after you've already completed some of the normal levels. That's it! Enjoy! II. How to get the secret 150,000 points inside the secret levels area ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 1. When you enter the secret area, you're standing in the upper right corner of it. Just below this position, you can see 2 units of ledges inside a kind of room. * | /----------| | / | LL LL | |\ -------------------------------------------------/---|----------| | \ | |----\-------------------------------------------------------------- /| | / | |----------------------------------------------------------------------/----| Each "L" resembles one ledge, the "*" marks your position. 2. Now, walk to the ramp under the ledges so you're here: | /----------| | / | LL LL | |\ -------------------------------------------------/---|----------| | \ | |----\-------------------------------------------------------------- /| | * / | |----------------------------------------------------------------------/----| You should not stand under one of the ledge units but under the space between the two units. 3. Use button 2 to stretch. You might think you'll touch the ceiling that's over you and under the ledge room, but, in fact, you will stretch through this ceiling and touch the ceiling of the ledge room. When you touch it, release button 2 so you'll hang there. Now you're here: | /-----*----| | / | LL LL | |\ -------------------------------------------------/---|----------| | \ | |----\-------------------------------------------------------------- /| | / | |----------------------------------------------------------------------/----| The "*" marks the position where you hang now. 4. Now, press down-left on the d-button so you'll fall down to the left. You'll land behind a wall you can't see through, picking up the 150,000 points. The spot is just under the left unit of ledges (see the graphic above). P.S.: You have to let yourself fall down to the left because if you just let yourself fall straight down, you'll fall through the ceiling you stretched through to get into the ledge room. III. How to quickly finish level 1, "Scary Sports" -------------------------------------------------- The level "Scary Sports" is behind the first door you'll see when walking to the right after just having started the game. After entering it, you're standing left to a big arrow which is pointing to the right. Don't follow this arrow, walk to the left! There is an exit after only a few moments of walking. (Well, this is so easy, I guess some gamers already found it out.) IV. How to get some goodies outside Santa Claus's factory --------------------------------------------------------- Get onto the roof right to the west end tower of the factory. There are several goodies on it. (This is even easier to find out than III., so I guess most of you already know it.)
